Summary
During WWII Aynho Park became the largest fuel dump in the midlands. Aerial photographs of the immediate post-War period show that the depot was concentrated on the eastern side of the park.

Full Description
{1} During the war Aynho Park became the largest fuel dump in the midlands. Site included nissan huts, bunkers and concrete roads. Traces of military use still exist at Aynhoe in the walls and terraces of the west lawn and on the east side, which were constructed using some of the military rubbish/rubble.
{2} The depot is visible on RAF aerial photos taking up most of the eastern edge of the park.
