- This website provides information from Northamptonshire’s Historic Environment Record (NHER). It does not provide all the information contained with the NHER and it will not be sufficient for commercial users to make informed interpretations for planning purposes. Commercial users should submit a Commercial Enquiry form found on the West Northamptonshire HER page. A charge will made for commercial searches.
- If members of the public, students and private researchers require a more detailed search, they should contact NHER staff to discuss their requirements; charges may be applicable for complex/large searches. Access to the NHER and supporting library is also available at Northamptonshire Archives.
- Northamptonshire’s HER is the copyright of West Northamptonshire Council (WNC). Reproduction of any material from the NHER in published form requires written permission from WNC. Data may not be traded, lent, sold or re-sold, hired out or otherwise circulated without our prior written consent.
- Some information held in the NHER may also be the copyright of others. It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that copyright law is not breached and the copyright owners permission is sought prior to reproduction.
- Users are requested to inform, and to make their research available to the NHER where new archaeological sites or data are discovered because of their work.
- Users are requested to make appropriate acknowledgement of the NHER in any publication or report which has made use of its data.
- While efforts have been made to verify the data held in the NHER, West Northants Council cannot accept responsibility for the accuracy of any particular data and its source. The NHER is a dynamic resource and data is constantly being updated and added.
- WNC accepts that there may be a requirement to treat certain enquiries in confidence. Equally, the NHER expects its users will not pass on or use information in an irresponsible or unethical manner.
- Definitive information relating to designated heritage assets, including Listed Buildings, Scheduled Monuments, Registered Parks and Gardens, and Registered Battlefields is derived from data supplied by Historic England and is subject to Crown Copyright.
