Summary

Two hollow-based flint arrowheads of a type well known in central and northern Ireland, but very rare in England and Wales. It is possible that the arrowheads may have come from an antiquarian collection.

Full Description

{1} Two worked flints found in garden - identified by Northampton Museum as late Neolithic transverse arrow heads.

{2} Two hollow-based flint arrowheads. The type is well known in central and northern Ireland and dates from the Late Neolithic / Early Bronze Age. In England and Wales the type is very rare indeed. Possible that the arrowheads may have come from an antiquarian collection and may not be genuine site finds.
