Full Description
{1} The foundations of a wall 350mm thick and built of local coursed limestone rubble, was located at the north end of the trench, apparently originally continuing the line of the back wall of the house. This returned and ran southwards from the gable of the present house, and approximately 3m from the centre line of the boundary hedge of the property.
Within this structure a closely-set floor of limestone pavings had been laid, stopping at a line 2.8m from the house and curving round to just beyond the front wall of Little House. The paving was laid down later than the walls and appears to have been laid inside the outbuilding this represents. The makeup of the floor contained late C19th material. There were traces of an earlier clay floor beneath the paving, this contained a few medieval sherds as well as a large quantity of C18th material.
