Full Description

{1} All metal detecting locations producing readings possibly indicative of smaller metallic artefacts were investigated. All of the recovered items proved to be ferrous objects of relatively recent origin, most commonly nails, fence wire and horseshoes; a recent spanner and a hammer head were also recovered. None of the objects were retained or plotted but a particular concentration was recovered from the small and intensively used paddocks to the immediate east of the Yelvertoft Road, Fields 6-8.
The survey did not reveal any artefacts relating to medieval or earlier human activity.
