Full Description

{1} Struck flint was recovered from across the study area but appeared to represent no more than a general scatter with few tools or cores. Romano-British pottery was recovered from across the study area but mainly appeared to comprise a general scatter usually interpreted as manuring scatters.

A small concentration, c.20-30 sherds, of Roman pottery was recovered from the western half of field 6. This concentration is difficult to interpret as it did not coincide with any recorded cropmarks. However, there is clearly a large site to the east which may extend further west than has been recorded. Alternatively the concentration may have derived from a midden or dense manuring scatter.
