Please read our guidance about the use of Northamptonshire Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
Archaeological trial excavation identified walls, rubble spreads and a drain dating to the late 17th/18th centuries, interpreted as possible garden features. Notable finds included a single sherd of unabraded early-middle Saxon pottery and probable glass medicine bottles of the 18th/19th centuries. A significant amount of animal teeth and mandible fragments may indicate that the processing of animal carcasses was undertaken nearby

Full Description
{1} Trial trench excavation was undertaken to the north of Well House during the construction of a house. Nothing was observed in the small southern trench, but in the northern trench there was a pair of possible walls, two rubble spreads, a possible drain and a possible posthole. Pottery associated with the features dated to the 17th-19th centuries, although a single residual sherd of early-middle Saxon pottery was also recovered.
