Full Description
{1} The roofless and doorless site hut contained finds from a previous Bozeat Archaeological Society excavation at c.SP925600. This revealed a Romano-British building with possible Iron Age occupation.
{2} Excavation of at least four trenches over four seasons by Bozeat Historical and Archaeological Society. In Trench one, there were layers of stone and pebbles, possibly demolition layers or yard surfaces with large quantities of Roman pottery, below which was a ditch, also Roman. In Trench 2, the possible end/side wall of a building was identified; both corners were found. The building was over 6.5m long/wide. Large quantities of other finds were recovered from the excavations including coins, nails, a possible spearhead, a possible armlet, brooches, a knife and bracelet.
