Description
House. C17 modified C18 and C19. Squared coursed limestone with rendered facade now painted. Collyweston slate roof. L-shape plan. Single storey with attic. 3-window range of C19 casements. Window to far right has a moulded stone surround and centre window has canted bay with slate roof. 3 gabled eaves dormers with C19 casements. 6 panel door with glazed top lights, to left of centre, is under wooden hood with slate roof. Gable roof with C19 hipped lean-to to right. Brick and stone stacks at r dge and end. Rear wing is similar. Interior: entrance hall and room to far right have open fireplaces with bressumers. Centre room and a first floor room have remains of C18 plaster cornice. Until 1868 this house belonged to Browne's hospital of Stamford.
