Description
Public house. C17, C18 and C19. Squared coursed limestone, part banded with ironstone, with ashlar dressings. Originally 3-unit plan, now irregular T-shape. Single storey with attics and part 2-storey. 2-window range, to centre, is of earliest origin. C19 casement, to left, under wood lintel, and canted bay window, with slate roof, to right. Gabled eaves dormers, to right, also has C19 casement window. 3-window range, to right, has higher eaves level and is probably late C18/early C19. Squared c ursed limestone banded with ironstone. C19 casement windows under wood lintels. Mansard roof with 2, hipped, roof dormers with casement windows. C19 range, attached to left, is T shaped and abuts High Street. Elevation to High Street is a 3-window range of 2-, 3- and 4-light C19 stone mullion windows. Gable to left and gablet to right. Stone stacks at ridge, ends and apex of gable. Rear elevation has a C19 stair projection with a tall stone mullion window. Entrance is at rear. Interior: groun floor room in centre range has remains of open fireplace with bressumer, ceiling beams and C18 panelled cupboard door.
