Description

House, formerly farmhouse. Early C18. Coursed squared ironstone, old tile roof, brick end stacks on stone bases. 2 storeys and attic; 5-window range. Principal front to garden has central part-glazed 4-panel door with 3-pane overlight and segmental hood on brackets. 12-pane sashes with timber-sills and lintels throughout, those to first floor windows stop-chamfered. Datestone over door is inscribed R/BA/1703. Plinth and 2-light stone mullion window lighting cellar to right of door, quoins, stone coped gables with kneelers, and 2 small gabled roof dormers. 1-storey wing to rear re-modelled C20. Interior: open-well staircase with turned balusters going from ground floor to attic, open fireplace, handsome fitted cupboard with arched 2-leaf panelled doors and serpentine shelves in drawing room, stop-chamfered spine beams.
