Description
House and barn, now house. Datestone W/WM/1747. Squared coursed limestone and ironstone with Collyweston slate roof. Originally 2-unit plan and attached barn. Single storey with attic. Irregular 3-window range of casements under wood lintels. 3 gabled eaves dormers, with casement windows, to attic. 3 part-glazed panelled doors, under wood lintels, between window ranges. Brick and stone stacks at ridge and end. Gable to left, abutting The Lane, has datestone at apex. Barn now forms part of house. Interiors not inspected. Probably built by William Whitehead a slater who leased it from the Churchwardens. (RCHM: An Inventory of Architectural Monuments in North Northamptonshire: p60)
