Description
Shown on OS map as East End Lodge. Lodge cottage. 1900-01. By William Huckvale for Charles Rothschild. Coursed squared stone with hipped thatch roof forming a verandah on two sides and stone ridge and rear stacks. Vernacular Revival style. Single storey and attic. Canted polygonal bay to left of leaded stone mullioned and transomed windows. Part glazed plank door within a verandah to right. Above is a wide eyebrow dormer with similar canted 4-light window and panels of stonework either side. Similar windows and doors to right side and rear. Part of the significant group of the model estate buildings of Ashton built by Charles Rothschild, and similar to West Lodge (qv) (Ashton C.P.).
