Description
School and masters house, now village hall. Datestone 1871. Squared coursed ironstone with ashlar dressings and fishscale-patterned tiled roof. Originally single hall school with vestibule and attached 2-unit house together forming an L-shape plan. Main front: school to left of 2-window range of pairs of arch-head windows with ashlar dressings. Gabled porch to far left has datestone. 2-storey cross wing to right is house with 2-light stone mullion window at ground floor and casement above. Recess above window has chequered decoration. Cast iron vent at ridge and decorative ridge tiles. Elevation of house to right is similar with stone mullion and casement windows. Central arch-head door opening and gable to right. Interior not inspected. Included for group value.
