Description

Farmhouse. Early C18, with early C19 alterations. Coursed squared limestone, plain tile roof, stone end stacks with square paired chimneys. T-plan. 2 storeys and attic; 4-window range. Central 4-panel door with side and overlights, panelled reveals and shallow Gothick timber porch with ogee lead roof, flanked by 2-light Gothick casement windows with moulded sills and surrounds, a pair of similar windows above door and similar windows to first floor left and right. Chamfered plinth with 2 blocked cellar windows with stone jambs and lintels to left of door, quoins and stone coped gables with kneelers. Wing to rear rebuilt in brick and extended one-bay late C19; a 2-light flat-faced stone mullion window survives lighting cellar. Interior has open fireplace with stop-chamfered bressumer, stop-chamfered spine beams and open well staircase with stick balusters, carved tread ends, ramped and wreathed handrail and cast-iron standard. Reset datestone inscribed 'C/PA/1682' in outbuilding.
