Description
Monument and attached lamp post. c.1902. Squared coursed limestone and limestone ashlar, with wrought iron lamp post. Rectangular base is of squared coursed limestone with ashlar dressings and 2 chamfered plinths. Ashlar upper stage with chamfered corners and cornice with castellations. Lamp post attached to upper stage has wrought scroll supports and swan-necked lamp bracket. Plaque with raised lettering to centre of upper stage has inscription, "Coronation of Edward VII August 9, 1902". Bands f thistles roses and shamrocks flanking plaque. Lamp converted from gas to electricity. Included for group value.
