Description
Barn and stables now barn, stables, flat and outbuildings. C18 and C19 part converted to flat C20. Squared coursed limestone and limestone ashlar with Collyweston slate roof. Together forming a courtyard plan with Hall Farmhouse (q.v.). One and 2 storeys. 2 storey range, attached to right, of main front of Hall Farmhouse (q.v.) is an irregular 3-window range of C19 style casements under eaves, at first floor. Similar tall casement at ground floor far left. Carriage arch, with plank doors under w od lintel, to left of centre. Half hipped roof to right. This range is now partly used as a flat. C18 barn attached at right angles to right forms south side of courtyard. Central cart entrance, to south elevation, under wood lintel and flanking triangular ventilation holes. Ashlar gable parapets. Late C18 stables are attached by a roofed link at right angles to left of the barn and form the east side of the courtyard. 2-window range with remains of leaded casements. 2 doors at ground floor, ne is 6 panelled, both under stone lintels with keyblocks. East elevation of stables is ashlar with 2 blocked windows at first floor. Interiors not inspected. (RCHM: An Inventory of Architectural Monuments in North Northamptonshire: p99)
