Description

With Nos 1 and 3 NEW STREET. Dated 1626. An L-shaped building of 2 storeys and attics, the corner being greater than a right angle. Old stone slate roof with 3 gables. Front in WEST STREET has 2 hipped dormers and a large gabled dormer with 4-light mullioned and transomed window, and also the gable end of New Street wing which has 4-light mullioned and transomed window to the attic. Three 4-light and a late C18 sash to 1st floor. Late windows to ground floor and 2 low doorways. (No 3 has rustica ed doorcase). Carriageway through between No 1 and 3. The NEW STREET front has 2 hipped dormers, a 4-light and a 3-light mullioned window and a late sash window to 1st floor, late C19 and a modern shop fronts to ground floor. The datestone, in West Street gable, is very badly weathered, only the "26" being discernible. Nos 1 to 9 (odd) form a group.
