Description
Row of 4 houses. Datestone 1865 for Rockingham Castle estate. Squared coursed and banded limestone and ironstone with slate roofs. Each originally of 2-unit terrace plans. 2 storeys. Together comprising a 4-window range. Those at first floor are set in eaves dormers. 3 windows to left are leaded casements under shallow stone arches. Bay to right breaks forward as a gabled cross wing and has a casement with glazing bar under a shallow stone arch to first floor and a square bay to the ground f oor. Pair of C19 ribbed doors to right and single door to left, all with lattice porches. Plain wood bargeboards and brick and stone stacks, partially renewed, at ridge eaves and end. Cross wing to left has datestone and may be of different build to main range; was originally the school master's house. Elevation to left has stone gabled porch. Interiors not inspected. Included for group value.
