Description
2 houses, now 3 dwellings. Early C18 altered C19. Squared coursed limestone with ashlar facade and Collyweston slate and concrete tile roofs. Originally each 2- and 3-unit plans forming L-shape range. 2 storeys with attic. 7-window range of leaded cross windows, at first floor, with moulded stone architraves. C19 unhorned 8-paned sash windows at ground floor, with similar surrounds. Windows to far left were originally single-light with transoms, but are now blind. 6-panel door between window to left and pair of similar doors between windows to right. All have moulded stone architraves with fanlights and radiating glazing bars. Two fanlights are blind. Chamfered plinth and raised band between floors. 3 Lincolnshire dormers, one with leaded lights. Ashlar gable parapets and kneelers and brick and ashlar stacks at ridge and ends. Eaves at rear are on 2 levels. C19 extensions to rear. Interior of No.12 noted as having some original bolection moulded panelling and bolection moulded fir surround, also first floor fireplace with stone surround. C18 staircase with turned balusters. Cellar under rear wing has stone mullion windows. Converted into 3 dwellings C19. (RCHM: An Inventory of Architectural Monuments in North Northamptonshire: p102)
