Description

Shown as Bottom Lodge on Ordnance Survey map. Lodge house. Mid C19 for Rockingham Castle estate. Limestone ashlar with Colleyweston slate roof. T-shape plan in Tudor style. Single storey with attic. Main front of one-window range with 4-light stone mullion window to ground floor and similar 3-light window to attic set in eaves dormer. C19 plank door to left has stone surround with 4-centre head. Ashlar gable parapets and ashlar stacks at ends have pairs of octagonal ashlar flues. Elevations t left and right are similar with eaves dormers. Large plaque on left gable has arms of Watson family. Interior not inspected.
