Description

Farmhouse. Dated 1631 and 1685. Coursed ironstone rubble, plain tile roof, brick end stacks, that to left on stone base. 4-unit plan. 2 storeys and attic; 5-window range. Central glazed door in C20 gabled porch. A 3-light casement window with timber lintel above and similar windows to ground and first floor right. Between central and right first floor windows, a blocked window and datestone with hood mould inscribed ANNO/1631. To left of door a straight-joint and 2-light casement window to ground floor with timber lintel and datestone above inscribed H/RD/1685. Above stone a small one-light window. To left 3-light casement windows to ground and first floors, all with timber lintels, that to first floor with hood mould. A small one-light leaded window with double-chamfered stone surround and hood mould to first floor far left. A single-storey C20 extension to left. Brick eaves and stone coped gables with kneelers. Interior has stone-flagged floor, stop-chamfered spine beams and 2 fireplaces with ogee-stop-chamfered bressumer. Collar truss roof.
