Description

Manor House. Probably medieval origins, mainly late C17 and C18. Regular coursed ironstone and limestone with slate roof. 3-unit plan. 2 storeys with attic; 2-window range to road of casements with glazing bars under wood lintels. Central semi-circular high carriage arch, now blocked, has drip mould and label stops. Flanking buttresses and blocked arch with pointed head to left. Evidence of blocked openings to first floor right. Ashlar gable parapets and brick and stone stacks at ridge and end. Rear: similar 4-window range with central C20 door and 3 roof dormers. Interior not inspected but noted as having an open fireplace. Reputed to have ecclesiastical origins.
