Description

Cottage, sometime barn. Probably C17. Coursed limestone rubble, (with a scattering of ironstone), roof thatched to front slope and of old interlocking concrete tiles to rear. Brick ridge stack. One storey and attic. Ground floor has plain board door (incorporating a tiny window) with wooden lintel, a 3-light gudgeon-hung iron framed casement window, a 2-light fixed light window in blocked wide opening, and 3-light early C20 casement window. Wooden lintels. 2 2-light casement eyebrow dormers above, that to right iron-framed. Rear reveals 2 separate builds, with blocked barn doorway in earlier part containing a small 3-light window which retains some original leading and glass. Rendered one-storey rear addition with pantiled roof, small C20 lean-to brick addition to gable end. Interior: ground floor left hand room has rudimentary timber-framed inglenook, chamfered cross-beam and wall-boarded door. Right-hand ground floor room has wall cupboard with H-hinges. Left-hand part has one pair of raised crucks with re-used cambered collar.
