Description
House. Dated 1805 on rainwater head, with mid C18 origins and later alterations and additions. Coursed squared ironstone, slate roofs, brick end stacks. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys and attic; 4-window range. 6-panel door to right with fanlight, panelled reveals, and moulded wood surround with panelled pilasters and open dentilled pediment. 12-pane horned sash windows to ground and first floors with stone sills and lintels with keyblocks. Quoins, parapet with hollow-chamfered stone coping and stone-coped gables. Extensive 2-storey wing to right with similar sash and flat-arched heads, canted back along Ace Lane. Interior: stone-flagged entrance hall, and straight-flight staircase with turned balusters. Drawing Room has fine mid C18 wood chimneypiece with eared surround and rococo carved ornament.
