Description
Bridge. C.1800. Limestone ashlar. Single-arched bridge. Low elliptical arch flanked by pilaster strips with moulded roundel above string course, which has flat U-shaped brackets. Low stone-coped parapet with wrought-iron railing. Railings have spear finials and slender standards with urn finials. The approaches curve outwards. Bridge gives access to park and spans stream feeding the chain of lakes on the north side of the park. (Castle Ashby park and gardens are included in the HBMC Register of Parks and Gardens for Northamptonshire at Grade I)
