Description
Public house. C18 and dated 1801. Coursed limestone rubble, painted; slate roof, brick end and ridge stacks. 2-unit plan with one-unit additions, either end. 2 storeys and attic; 4-window range. 4-panel part-glazed door to left of centre with moulded wood surround, timber lintel and gabled hood on brackets. Canted bay to left with 16 pane sash to front, 4-pane sashes to sides. 2-light casement to right and plank door in moulded wood surround to far right flanked by 3-light casements all under continuous wood lintel. 3-light casements to first floor with timber lintels. Datestone above door to right inscribed "S/TE/MDCCCI" and 2 gabled roof dormers. 2-storey addition to left breaks forward and has further single-storey extension and gable wall of brick. Interior has ogee stop-chamfered spine beam, some stop-chamfered joists and open fireplace with ogee stop-chamfered bressumer.
