Description

House. Early C17. Squared coursed limestone with Collyweston slate roof. Originally 2-unit lobby-entry plan. 2 storeys with attic. 3-window range. Flanking 5-light canted bay windows, with chamfered mullions, at ground floor. Jettied gablets above, supported on moulded brackets, have 3-light stone mullion windows to first floor. Similar, 2-light, window to first floor centre. Central, C20, door under wood lintel, is probably repositioned. Left gable has a 2-light stone mullion attic window with chamfered mullions. C20 bay window at ground floor. Right gable has 2 casement windows under wood lintels. Central ashlar stack with 4 flues. C19 extension to rear. Interior not inspected but noted as having remains of 2 open fireplaces. (RCHM: An Inventory of Architectural Monuments in North Northamptonshire: p97)
