Description
House. Dated 1636, altered early C19 and C20. Coursed limestone rubble, thatch roof, brick ridge, end and lateral stacks. L plan, lobby-entry house. 2 storeys. Blocked door to right of centre with wood lintel, C20 porch in re-entrant angle with projecting wing to left. 24-pane sash window to left of blocked door, 2-light casement window to right, both with wood lintels. 3-light casement window to first floor in eyebrow dormer. Projecting wing has 3-light casement window to ground floor gable end, a 2-light casement above and to ground floor right side, all with wood lintels. Small ironstone datestone in right gable inscribed: WAT/1636. Interior: stop-chamfered spine beams and some original stop-chamfered joists. Pair of open fireplaces, back-to-back with stop-chamfered bressumer. Collar truss roof.
