Description

House. Dated 1694 and 1856. Squared coursed ironstone with limestone dressings, Collyweston stone slate and plain tile roofs, coped gables moulded stone end stacks and lateral stack to north-west wing. H-plan, the north-west wing C17, the rest C19. 2 storeys and attic. Gable end of north-west wing has 4-light ovolo-moulded stone-mullioned windows with hood-moulds to ground and first floors, and a 3-light window to attic, with central light stepped. Square stone not cornice in gable, with date inscribed in oval. South-west wing copies detail of north-west wing. Central linking block has C19 gabled porch with arched entrance and C20 door, and a 2-light ovolo-moulded stone-mullioned window with cornice above. Rectangular leaded glazing. Left flank partly rebuilt and refenestrated apart from a 3-light leaded casement window with wooden lintel. Interior altered, but ground floor front room has cross-beam with run-out chamfer.
