Description

Stables. Late C18 and C19 for Brudenell family of Deene Hall. Squared coursed limestone, with ashlar dressings, and Collyweston slate roof. Long rectangular 2-storey range. Main front is an 11-window range, of leaded casements at first floor. Tall casements, at ground floor, have horizontally hinged lights, all with glazing bars, under gauged stone heads. 6, arch-head, doorways, some with stable doors, between window ranges, have moulded stone surrounds and keyblocks. Ashlar gable parapets and stone stacks at ridge and end. Archway to right of centre gives access to Riding School approximately 65 metres north-west of Deene Hall (q.v.). Left gable has coachhouse doors with segmental arch-head. Interior retaining some C19 loose boxes.
