Description
House. Mid C17. Squared uncoursed limestone and ironstone, ironstone dressings, artificial stone slate roof, brick stacks. T-plan. 2 storeys and attic; 3 bays. Symmetrical front with central gabled porch of 2 storeys. Stone doorway with 4-centred head and square hood. Original studded plank door flanked by 4-light stone mullioned windows with square hoods. Similar windows on first floor, except that above porch with 3 lights. Gabled dormers with wooden casements. Gabled 4-storey wing at rear has C17 five-light window with wood lintel, moulded wooden mullions and iron casemnts. Interior: C17 stone fireplace with 4-centred arch in ground floor room. 2 small straight-headed stone fireplaces, also C17 in bedrooms. Staircase C20 but probably in original central position.
