Description

House. Dated 1671. Coursed squared ironstone, old tile roof, brick ridge and end stacks on stone bases. 3-unit through-passage plan. 2 storeys and attic; 3-window range. Plank door approached by 3 steps between left and centre windows. 3-light C19 casement windows throughout except for ground floor window to right whose sill has been dropped. Timber lintels to door and windows. Datestone between centre and right first floor windows has inscription T/WE/1671 in floral wreath with rose on left, thistle to right and hood-mould. Stone eaves, coped stone gables with kneelers, and 2-light central roof dormer. Right gable has 2-light stone mullion window with hood-mould and leaded casements. Attached wall, probably C18, extends from left corner. C19 brick extension to rear. Interior has complete set of stop-chamfered spine beams, an open fireplace with stop-chamfered bressumer and a 4-centred arched fireplace to first floor room.
