Description
Drive entrance gateway. 1899-1902 by Charles Dorman for James Manfield, a Northampton shoe manufacturer. Limestone, ironstone and wrought iron. Pair of carriageway piers and flanking footway piers, flanked by quadrant walls with similar terminal piers. The piers have cornices, caps and large ball finials. The quadrant walls are ramped up to pair of piers with ball finials and railings between. Flanking walls have lower end piers with ball finials. Moulded stone coping to walls. Carriageway gates missing; footways have ornate wrought iron gates.
