Description

Gate, gatepiers and railings. Early C18, restored C19. 2 pairs of limestone ashlar panelled gatepiers each surmounted by winged lead figures. 2 pairs of wrought iron gates with intermediate wrought iron piers and overthrows. All decorated with scrolls and finials and incorporating the Wentworth coat of arms. The two gateways are linked by similar wrought-iron railings on a low wall, to form a forecourt screen to Harrowden Hall (q.v.). (The gardens and park are included in the HBMC County Register of Gardens at Grade II*).
