Description
Farmhouse. Mid C18. Squared coursed and regular coursed limestone and ironstone with some brick dressings and slate roof. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys. Main front of 5-window range of sashes with glazing bars under stone lintels and flat arches. Large, C19, central bow window has ashlar base and sashes with glazing bars. Shallow stone porch to left of centre has panelled and glazed door with reeded wood surround. Ashlar gable parapets and kneelers and brick stacks at ridge and end. The 2-window range to right is of a different build to the main house. Late C18 range attached to rear, with leaded light casement in gable end. Interior: kitchen has remains of open fireplace with carved bressumer representing Dolphins reputedly reset from Harrowden Hall (q.v.).
