Description
Row of 3 cottages, formerly five cottages. Late C17 (one dated 1671) and C18, altered C19 and C20. Coursed limestone rubble, thatch roof, brick end and ridge stacks. 2-storey, 4-window range. Probably all one-unit plans originally. Plank door to No. 3, C20 doors to Nos. 5 and 7 and blocked doors to right of centre and to left of door to No. 3, all with wood lintels. 3-light casement windows to ground floor, with wood lintels. 2-light casements to 1st floor in eyebrow dormers. 2-storey, 1-window mid C19 extension to right with slate roof and C20 casements. Interior: No. 3 has ogee-stop-chamfered and chamfered spine beams and two open fireplaces with chamfered bressumers. No. 7 has chamfered spine beam and open fireplace with stop-chamfered bressumer. Datestone to right gable of No. 5 now in attic of No. 7 inscribed 1672/1H AH.
