Description
House, now two dwellings. Probably late C17. Stone plinth, walls said to be cobb construction, now rendered. C20 reproduction-slate roof. Large central brick stack, smaller stack to right. 2 storeys and attic; 5 bays. Entrance to Rippon Cottage in second bay from right has C20 gabled timber porch and C20 door with wood lintel. 3-light casement windows with wood lintels on either side. Similar window in third bay from left. 2-light casement window with wood lintel in left bay and one light window in second bay from left. 2-light casement windows with wood lintels in left and right bays and second bay from left on first floor. Similar 3-light window in third bay from right and C20 one-light window with rendered surround in second bay from right. 4 skylights to attic. C20 doorway to Lyn Cottage in left side. Left gable end weather-boarded. Interior: Rippon Cottage has set of chamfered beams in ground floor room. Lyn Cottage not inspected.
