Description

Farmhouse. Early and mid C19 on site of earlier farmhouse. Squared coursed limestone with Colleyweston slate roof. Originally L-shape plan, now irregular double depth. 2 storeys. Main front is a 2-window range of unhorned sashes, with glazing bars, under gauged stone heads with ashlar dressings. Central, part-glazed, panelled door has flat wooded porch with pilasters and slender columns. Brick and stone stacks at ends. Rear wing, to right, has sash windows at ground floor and casement windows with glazing bars, under flat stone arches, to first floor. Outbuilding attached to left of main front, probably of C18 origins, has plank door to right and window opening with wooden shutters to left, both under flat stone arches. Interior: early C19 staircase with stick balustrade. Rear elevation appears in drawing by George Clarke of 1847.
