Description

Row of 5 houses. 1860-64 for Lady Overstone. Regular coursed lias with brick dressings and slate roofs. Originally each of 2-unit plans. 2 storeys. Together comprising an 8-window range of one- and 2-light wood-mullioned windows with cast-iron lozenge glazing bars under flat brick arches with brick dressings. Gabled porches between window ranges have C19 and C20 doors and arched openings; those to Nos. 28 and 29 form a central pair. Gabled projection of No. 31 breaks forward at right hand corner of row with square bay window at ground floor and 3-light wood-mullioned window above. Gables have barge boards and slit windows in apex. Oversailing eaves and brick stacks at ridge. Interiors not inspected.
