Description

Farmhouse. Dated 1841. Limestone ashlar, hipped slate roof, brick lateral stacks. Double-depth plan. 2-storey, 3-window range. Central 4-panel door with fanlight and segmental-arched head with key and voussoir blocks, sash windows to ground and first floors,w ith stone lintels and keyblocks except for central first floor window with segmental-arched head. 2-storey wing to left. Garden front has similar composition but round-arched head to door and central first floor window. Ironstone datestone . to left side elevation inscribed "K/SK/1841". Interior has stone paved staircase hall with open-well staircase with thin splat balusters, carved head ends, ramped and wreathed handrail and cast-iron standard. Coloured glass in fanlight of front and garden doors, and statuary marble chimneypiece from Whittlebury Lodge.
