Description
House. Mid C18 with late medieval origins and C20 additions. Red brick Flemish bond with some flared headers, hipped plain tile roof, brick ridge and lateral stacks. L-plan. 2 storeys and attic; 4-window range. Main front to garden has glazed door to left of centre, in C20 verandah extending to C20 bay window to far right, a 16-pane sash window in between and similar window to far left, straight joint to centre, with 12-pane sashes to first floor right, 16-pane sashes to first floor left. Plinth . and and gauged brick lintels with stone keyblocks to right of centre, timber lintels to left. Right side elevation has attic window with 2- and 3-light leaded casements with old catches and timber lintels. Left half of front is a C20 addition, the older half has stone wall to rear and 6-panel door in C20 timber porch. Interior has 2 C15 or early C16 doorways with 4-centred arched heads with quatrefoils and mouchettes to spandrels, probably part of a group of 3 doors at service . oor or full-height hall. Moulded and chamfered spine beams. Open fireplace with chamfered bressumer.
