Description

House. Dated 1750, mainly early C19. Squared coursed limestone and limestone ashlar, with Collyweston slate roof. L-shape plan. 2 storeys with attic. Main front is of 3-window range. Central 6-panel door with rectangular fanlight with lattice glazing bars. Moulded wood surround with pediment over. 6-paned sash window, under eaves, to first floor centre. Flanking 2-storey, ashlar, bow windows, with casements, more added early/mid C19. Shallow conical roofs abutting main house roof. Recessed shutters, to ground floor windows. Pair of roof dormers have horizontal sliding sash windows, with glazing bars. Mansard roof with brick and stone stacks at ends. Date scratched on door jamb to rear. Interior not inspected but noted as having early C19 curving staircase. (RCHM: An Inventory of Architectural Monuments in North Northamptonshire: p127)
