Description

Shown as Rectory on Ordnance Survey map. House. Mid C18. Squared coursed limestone with ashlar facade and Colleyweston slate roof. T-shape plan. 2 storeys with attic. Main front of 3-window range of sash windows with glazing bars under stone lintels with keyblocks. Late C18 porch left of centre has moulded cornice and plain entablature, now a window. Ashlar gable parapets and kneelers and 3 gabled roof dormers with casement windows. Ashlar stacks with moulded cornices at ridge and end. C19, single unit, 2-storey extension to right. Short rear wing has 6-panel door under C19 head with leaded cross window under wood lintel, above. Door has iron serpent knocker: symbol of C19 owner who was a surgeon. Interior not inspected but noted as having panelled window reveals and open fireplace with bressumer. Used for a time as the Rectory.
