Description
Shown as No.39 on Ordnance Survey map. House. Late C17. Regular coursed ironstone and limestone with corrugated metal and pantile roof. Originally 3-unit plan. Single storey with attic; 3-window range of small casements with glazing bars, that at centre projects above eaves. Wood lintels at ground floor. Central C20 glazed porch with pantile roof. Ashlar gable parapets and kneelers to left and large brick and stone stacks to ridge and end. Barn attached to right reconstructed C20 and now forms part of house. Rear similar with some casement windows having wood lintels and central eaves dormer. Left gable has evidence of raised parapets. Interior: entrance hall has fine C17 fireplace with moulded stone 4-centred arch head and moulded cornice. Chamfered ceiling beams. First floor room noted as having similar smaller fireplace.
