Description
Farmhouse and granary now 3 dwellings. C17 origins, mid C18 and C19. Regular coursed and squared coursed limestone with Colleyweston and Welsh slate roofs. Originally probably 3-unit plan at right angles to road now irregular S-shape. 2-storeys with attic. Main front is a 3-window range of sash windows, those flanking are tripartite. First floor windows are under wood lintels and ground floor windows are under shallow stone arches. Central C20 6-panelled door under similar head. Pair of gabled roof dormers. Ashlar gable parapets and ashlar stacks at ends. Elevation to right has central gabled projection from the C17 range. Elevation to left is of 2-window range of C20 casements in original openings. Window to ground floor left is under shallow stone arch and window to right is under wood lintel. Central C20 door under wood lintel. 2 bays to right were probably raised C18 and have an ashlar gable parapet. The former granary is attached at right angles to the rear and is a 3-window range of C20 casements under renewed wood lintels. Central C20 door also under wood lintel. C20 door to first floor far right has flight of external stone steps. Ashlar gable parapets and C20 stone stack at end. Interiors not inspected but noted as having remains of open fireplace and staircase with turned balusters. (RCHM: An Inventory of Architectural Monuments in North Northamptonshire: p79)
