Description
Former fireman's quarters for Ordnance Depot (former Weedon Barracks (q.v.)) now council flats. Mid/late C19. Red brick and cast-iron, slate roof, brick ridge stacks. 2 storeys; 18-bay range. Roof of front elevation to south extends over iron-framed balcony and verandah in front of ground and first floor, with brick piers to ground floor probably replacing iron and iron-framed staircase to balcony rising at either end. C20 part-glazed doors with overlights and sash windows with gauged brick lintels to ground and first floors, some replacing doors. There were formerly 6 flats to each floor, now made into 3 to each floor. Interiors not inspected.
