Description

2 cottages. C19 (perhaps earlier origin), with C20 alteration. Coursed limestone rubble (with some ironstone in left gable end), ashlar dressings, thatched roof with central coping, brick ridge and end stacks. One storey and attic. No.43, 2-window range, has C19 detail: a Tudor-arched doorway with plain board door, flanked by 2-light stone mullioned windows with leaded lattice casements and hood-moulds. 2 similar but smaller windows in gabled dormers above. No.44 has C20 door to right in timber lattice porchs and a 3-light C20 window to left. 2 C20 gabled dormers, with similar windows. Wing to rear, heightened, has plain-tile roof. Interiors not inspected.
