Description

Vicarage, now 2 dwellings. Datestone M/IN/1651 extended 1831 by James Richardson of Stamford and mid C19. Squared coursed limestone with ashlar dressings and Colleyweston and Welsh slate roofs. Main front of 3 bays, bay to right breaks forward with a hipped roof. 2-window range, to right, has unhorned sash window under stone lintels. Projecting wing has similar window to first floor and return wall all under gauged stone heads with keyblocks. C19 wooden canted bay window has openwork castellated parapet. Central 5-panel door has fanlight with diagonal glazing bars, moulded wood pilasters and open pediment over. Ashlar gable parapets. Right gable has 2 sash windows, similar to main front, under stone lintels. Datestone in apex of gable. C19 five-window range, attached to left of main front, has one sash window with glazing bars; other windows are C20 casements, all under stone lintels. C19 and C20 doorways at ground floor. Interior not inspected. The main range appears substantially remodelled by James Richardson, the projecting wing and range, now Vicarage Cottage, probably followed in mid C19.
