Description

House. Datestone R/JS/1803. Limestone ashlar with C20 plain tile roof. Double depth plan. 3 storeys. 3-window range. Central 6 panel door has rectangular fanlight, flanking Tuscan columns and a segmental pediment over. Central sash windows with glazing bars, to first and second floors under gauged stone heads. Similar flanking tripartite sash windows also under gauged stone heads. All windows reduce at second floor level. Raised bands between floors. Hipped roof with internal ashlar stacks. Rear elevation has central datestone and lean-to extensions. Interior: Entrance hall has wide staircase with stick balustrade. Built for owner of Cotterstock Mill probably James Rickett.
